1. About Maths Unlocked
Maths Unlocked is an educational revision service for GCSE maths. It provides lessons, questions, feedback, progress tools and account features for students, families, tutors and schools.
2. Educational use
Maths Unlocked supports learning and revision but does not replace school teaching, professional advice or a balanced revision programme. We aim to make questions, answers, diagrams and explanations accurate, but we do not guarantee a particular examination grade, result or outcome. Users should report suspected content errors through the question-reporting feature or by emailing admin@mathsunlocked.uk.
3. Accounts
Account information must be accurate. Users are responsible for keeping login details secure and must not share an account outside the permissions of their plan. Parents, tutors, teachers and schools must only access student information where they are authorised to do so. We may suspend access where an account is misused or the service or another user is put at risk.
4. Subscriptions and paid access
Current prices, billing periods and included features are shown before purchase. Subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled. Access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period after cancellation, subject to the terms of the payment provider and any refund, chargeback or revocation.
- Web subscriptions purchased through Stripe are managed or cancelled through the Maths Unlocked account and Stripe customer portal.
- Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are managed or cancelled through the user's Apple App Store subscription settings.
- Subscriptions purchased in the Android app are managed or cancelled through the user's Google Play subscription settings.
Refunds and billing disputes are handled under the rules of the provider that processed the purchase. Deleting the app or closing an account does not automatically cancel an active Apple, Google Play or Stripe subscription.
5. School licences
School and multi-school licences are arranged separately through Maths Unlocked, normally by manual agreement and invoice. The applicable order, invoice, school agreement and data-processing terms form part of the contract for that licence. School licences are not sold as in-app subscriptions.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use another person's account or try to access information you are not authorised to view;
- attempt to disrupt, damage, reverse-engineer or bypass the security or access controls of the service;
- use bots, scraping tools or other automated methods to copy or extract content;
- upload or submit unlawful, abusive, harmful or misleading material; or
- copy, sell, republish or publicly distribute paid content without written permission.
7. Content and intellectual property
Maths Unlocked branding, questions, explanations, diagrams, worksheets, software and learning materials belong to Maths Unlocked or its licensors unless stated otherwise. Teachers, tutors and schools may use materials only as permitted by their plan or written agreement.
8. Availability and liability
We may update, correct, replace or withdraw content and features. We aim to keep the service available, but do not promise uninterrupted access. To the extent permitted by law, Maths Unlocked is not responsible for exam outcomes, misuse of the service, or failures caused by third-party services outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Privacy and changes
Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from their stated date.
10. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact admin@mathsunlocked.uk. The full policy document remains available in the policy library.
