1. Who we are
Maths Unlocked is a UK GCSE maths revision service. For privacy questions, data requests or account deletion, contact admin@mathsunlocked.uk.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Maths Unlocked, we may collect:
- account information, including your name, email address and account role;
- user IDs and other account identifiers used to keep accounts and linked family, tutor or school access working;
- subscription and purchase status, including the plan, provider, renewal state and access dates;
- learning and usage information, including topics attempted, answers, scores, progress, assignments and saved preferences;
- support messages and question reports that you send to us; and
- technical information such as device and browser type, app version, IP-derived approximate location, diagnostics, crash reports, performance information and security logs.
We do not sell personal information and we do not directly store full payment-card details.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure accounts and provide the correct level of access;
- save learning progress, provide feedback and show relevant information to authorised parents, tutors or schools;
- manage subscriptions, purchases, cancellations and customer support;
- operate, diagnose, protect and improve the website and apps; and
- meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and safeguarding obligations.
4. Service providers and payments
Maths Unlocked uses Supabase for authentication, account data and service storage. Supabase processes account details and identifiers so users can sign in and their access and progress can be saved.
Web payments are processed by Stripe. Purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple, and purchases made in the Android app are processed by Google Play. These providers process payment and transaction information under their own privacy terms. Maths Unlocked receives the purchase and subscription status needed to provide access, but not full card details.
We may also use trusted hosting, email, analytics, crash-reporting and performance-monitoring providers where needed to run and support the service. Information is shared only where necessary for those purposes.
5. Children and linked accounts
Maths Unlocked may be used by children and young people. We aim to collect only information needed to provide learning, account and progress features. Progress may be visible to a parent, tutor, teacher or school where the student account has been appropriately linked or provided through that organisation.
6. Legal basis and retention
Under UK data protection law, we generally process information to perform our contract with users, comply with legal obligations, obtain consent where required, and pursue legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving Maths Unlocked. For school-managed accounts, the school may be the data controller and Maths Unlocked may act as its processor.
We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the service or required by law. Account and progress information is normally retained while an account is active. Payment and accounting records may be retained for statutory periods, while diagnostic and security logs are generally retained for a shorter operational period.
7. Your choices and rights
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent applies. A signed-in user can submit an account deletion request from Your account without sending an email. If you cannot sign in, contact admin@mathsunlocked.uk for help. We may need to verify your identity. Some records may be kept where required for legal, accounting, safeguarding or school-contract purposes.
8. Security, international processing and complaints
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and access controls. Some service providers may process information outside the UK; where this happens, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. More detailed information is available in our full privacy policy and student privacy summary.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Maths Unlocked develops. The latest version will always be published on this page.
