1. Purpose

Maths Unlocked may use sponsorship to help fund free GCSE maths revision access for pupils.

This policy explains how sponsor recognition works and what types of advertising are not allowed.

2. Our principle

Learning comes first.

Sponsors help support access, but they do not control Maths Unlocked’s educational content.

Sponsors do not control:

  • question design
  • answers
  • explanations
  • marking
  • progress tracking
  • recommendations
  • topic coverage
  • student reports

3. Where sponsors may appear

Sponsors may be recognised in appropriate places, such as:

  • the free version landing page
  • “Free GCSE revision supported by…” messages
  • after Daily 10 completion
  • the parent/support page
  • a sponsor or supporter page
  • Maths Unlocked social media thank-you posts
  • monthly impact updates

4. What sponsors may receive

Founding Sponsors may receive recognition such as:

  • business name/logo on the free version landing page
  • sponsor recognition linked to free access
  • mention after Daily 10 completion
  • mention on the parent/support page
  • thank-you post on Maths Unlocked socials
  • short monthly progress and impact update
  • recognition as a founding supporter

The current Founding Sponsor package is £500 for 6 months.

5. What is not allowed

Maths Unlocked does not allow:

  • adverts inside active quiz questions
  • pop-up adverts interrupting learning
  • tracking-based advertising to pupils
  • misleading advertising
  • sponsor influence over educational content
  • adverts designed to pressure pupils
  • inappropriate or adult content

6. Restricted sponsor categories

Maths Unlocked will not normally accept sponsorship from businesses or campaigns connected to:

  • alcohol
  • vaping or nicotine
  • gambling
  • adult content
  • illegal drugs
  • high-cost credit or payday loans
  • weapons
  • political campaigning
  • hate, discrimination or extremist content
  • anything unsuitable for children or education

Maths Unlocked may refuse or remove sponsors that do not fit the platform’s educational purpose.

7. Pupil data and sponsors

Sponsors do not receive pupil personal data.

Sponsors do not receive individual pupil progress information.

Sponsors do not receive tracking-based advertising profiles of pupils.

8. Sponsor links

Sponsor recognition may include a business name, logo and website link where appropriate.

Any sponsor links should be suitable for a family and education audience.

9. Transparency

Maths Unlocked will aim to make sponsor recognition clear so users can tell when a business is supporting the free version.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Maths Unlocked develops.

The latest version will be published on the Maths Unlocked website or app.
